SHA Mexico

SHA Mexico sits on the Costa Mujeres shoreline north of Cancún, on the Caribbean coast of the Riviera Maya, across seven hectares of native mangrove and half a kilometre of white-sand beach facing Isla Mujeres. It opened in 2024 as the SHA Method's first home outside Spain, designed by the Mexican firm Sordo Madaleno with interiors by Alejandro Escudero, and it carries the clinic's integrative approach into a tropical, beachfront setting.

Like its Spanish original, the property is organised around a required, medically supervised programme rather than a casual spa stay, detox, weight balance, healthy ageing, longevity or stress recovery, each personalised and led by a team of doctors, nutritionists and naturopaths. What differs here is the environment: warm ocean, reef and jungle in place of a Mediterranean hillside.

Nutrition follows the SHA plan and is served at the SHAmadi restaurant, with a Chef's Studio for learning the cooking behind it. Movement is well equipped, with a gym, a movement lab, an outdoor fitness zone, a jogging track, and tennis and padel courts set against the sea.

Recovery infrastructure is extensive and tuned to the tropics. The wellness centre runs a full hydrotherapy circuit with sauna, Turkish bath, hammam and spa pool, alongside a beachfront infinity pool and around one hundred treatment rooms. Yoga and meditation sanctuaries anchor the mind and body work, and the location adds something the original cannot: Mayan-inspired rituals such as Temazcal, drawn from the surrounding culture.

Accommodation runs to one hundred ocean-view suites and thirty-seven private residences, from rooms of around seventy square metres to multi-bedroom residences with private pools, all facing the Caribbean.

This is a strong Verisa stay for travellers who want the full SHA method in a tropical beach setting, and for those in the Americas for whom Spain is a long way to go. It is a clinic first and a holiday second, delivered on one of the Caribbean's better beaches.
